β’ 4 cups bread flour (500g)
β’ ΒΌ cup granulated sugar (50g)
β’ 1 tsp salt
β’ 2ΒΌ tsp instant yeast (7g)
β’ 1 cup warm milk (240ml)
β’ 1 large egg
β’ ΒΌ cup unsalted butter, softened (56g)
β’ 2 tbsp milk powder (optional)
β’ 2 tbsp heavy cream (optional for extra softness)

β’ 1 egg
β’ 1 tbsp milk

1οΈβ£ Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine:
β Bread flour
β Sugar
β Salt
β Instant yeast
β Milk powder (if using)
Add warm milk and egg, then mix until a dough forms.

Knead for 8β10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Gradually add softened butter and continue kneading until the dough becomes soft, stretchy, and slightly glossy.

Punch down the dough and divide into equal portions.
Roll each portion into a rope shape.
Using a dough scraper or knife, make several cuts across the dough without cutting all the way through β creating the beautiful segmented pattern β¨
Gently stretch and shape into long bread rolls.
Place onto a lined baking tray.

Cover and allow the rolls to proof again for 30β45 minutes until puffy.
Brush generously with egg wash.
