Ingredients

For the Cake Batter

  • 3 eggs
  • A pinch of salt

  • 100 g sugar
  • 80 ml yogurt
  • 80 ml melted butter
  • 220 g flour
  • 10 g baking powder

  • 2 large apples
  • 20 g butter
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Apples

Peel and slice the apples into thin pieces.
In a pan, melt 20 g butter and lightly cook the apples with cinnamon and 1 tablespoon sugar for 2–3 minutes until slightly soft and fragrant.

Step 2: Make the Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, salt, vanilla, and sugar until smooth.
Add yogurt and melted butter, then mix well.

Sift in the flour and baking powder. Stir until a smooth batter forms.

Step 3: Assemble the Cake

Grease a 24 cm baking tin.
Pour the batter into the tin and spread evenly. Arrange the cooked apple slices on top.

Step 4: Bake

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 35–40 minutes, or until golden brown and fully cooked inside.

Step 5: Serve

Allow the cake to cool slightly before slicing.
Serve warm for the best flavor.
