🍫✨ Decadent Chocolate Cake with Caramel Filling & Ganache ✨🍮

Layers of rich chocolate cake, creamy caramel filling, and silky ganache—this cake is pure indulgence for any chocolate lover! 😍

🍰 Ingredients:

Chocolate Cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk (room temp)
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee (or hot water)

Caramel Filling:

  • 1 can (14 oz) dulce de leche or
  • 1 cup caramel sauce + ½ cup thick whipped cream (for creamier texture)

Chocolate Ganache:

  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • 12 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter (optional, for shine)

Topping:

  • Grated orange-colored white chocolate, grated carrot, or candied orange peel

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch cake pans with parchment.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, baking soda & salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix buttermilk, oil, eggs & vanilla until smooth.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients & stir until just combined.
  5. Slowly whisk in hot coffee until batter is smooth & thin.
  6. Divide batter into pans & bake 25–30 min until centers spring back. Cool completely.
  7. For caramel filling, warm dulce de leche/caramel to spreadable consistency. Spread generously between layers.
  8. For ganache, heat cream until steaming, pour over chopped chocolate, let sit, stir until smooth. Add butter if desired. Cool until thick but spreadable. Coat entire cake.
  9. Garnish top with orange-colored chocolate, carrot, or candied peel.
  10. Chill at least 30 min before slicing for perfect layers.
