π§Ύ Ingredients
- 2 cups (250g) flour
- 1 cup (200g) sugar
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- Β½ cup (120ml) milk
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- A pinch of salt
π©βπ³ Instructions
- Preheat oven to 170Β°C. Grease and line a square pan with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugar until pale, light, and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Fold in half of the dry ingredients.
- Add milk and mix gently.
- Fold in the remaining dry ingredients until smooth and thick.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and level the top.
- Bake for 35β45 minutes, or until a skewer comes out clean and the top is golden.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
