🧁 Classic Vanilla Cupcakes

Ingredients

For the Cupcakes

  • 1Β½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ΒΎ cup granulated sugar
  • Β½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • Β½ cup milk

  • 1Β½ tsp baking powder

  • 2 cups icing (powdered) sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Batter

  1. Preheat the oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

2. Add the Dry Ingredients

  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix just until smooth and combined.

3. Bake

  2. Gradually add the icing sugar, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and enough milk to achieve a smooth, pipeable consistency.
  4. Pipe or spread the frosting onto the completely cooled cupcakes.
