🍫 Sour Cream Double Chocolate Muffins

Rich, moist, and packed with chocolate—these muffins are soft on the inside with a deep chocolate flavor in every bite.


🛒 Ingredients

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (50 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup (200 g) sugar
  • ½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 cup (240 g) sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) milk
  • 1 cup (170 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    Preheat to 180°C (350°F) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients
    In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients
    In another bowl, whisk oil, sour cream, eggs, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  4. Combine
    Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients.
    Gently mix until just combined (do not overmix).
  5. Add Chocolate Chips
    Fold in most of the chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
  6. Fill Muffin Cups
    Divide batter evenly, filling each cup about ¾ full.
    Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake
    Bake for 18–22 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Cool & Serve
    Let cool slightly before serving.
