French Bread

Ingredients
• 4 cups flour
• 1 tbsp sugar
• 2 tsp yeast
• 1 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 1/4 cups warm water
• 1 tbsp butter or oil

🍴 Method
1. Activate yeast
Mix warm water + sugar + yeast. Leave for 5–10 minutes.
2. Make dough
Add flour, salt, and butter/oil.
Knead until smooth and elastic.
3. First rise
Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
4. Shape bread
Roll into long baguette shapes and place on tray.
5. Second rise
Let rise again for 20–30 minutes.
6. Score & bake
Make slashes on top with sharp knife.
Bake at 220°C for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
